Clip on Construction

Andrew is fasinated with all things construction, but most of all with road construction. Given it is summer time we see it quite a lot and we have had a number if children's books from the library on the topic in the last two months as well. So I guess we shouldn't have been surprised when he setup a construction site in the basement for a "new road". This road is unlike most in that the primary material is not concrete or blacktop, but clothes pins. It also involves so many scales of diggers it is hard to imagine how the guy in the little bulldozer feels safe. What a fun time, it is so great to see his little mind working.

And then there was one

We are amazed at Ella's hunger. She ate steak, rice and lettuce until well after everyone else was done and the table was cleared. Who wants diaper duty tomorrow morning?

No picture today

Andrew declared that he could not be photographed today with an emphatic "no pictures please", as if we were the paparazzi following him. When we asked why he didn't want his pictures taken he said "pictures make me sad". No matter how you look at it the kid is too young for this complex. If it is like everything else it will quickly pass and by tomorrow he'll be haming it up again. Guess you will just have to bide your time waiting for his highness.

This Girl Loves to Eat

We waited until Eleanor was seven months old to start feeding her "real food" and she has become quite the eater over the past few weeks. Forget the baby food, she wants the real deal...rice, beans, tomatoes, pork, chicken, hamburger, she doesn't turn anything down.

Strawberry Picking

Today was our third trip to the farm, and the last week for strawberries. There is nothing quite like freshly picked strawberries. Andrew is usually a great helper, finding beautiful red berries into our bucket so "we can eat them at home," but today he only wanted "to put them in my mouth now"

Welcome Summer!

The past seven months have flown by, and I have realized that I have written absolutely nothing down about what the kids have been doing. My goal for the summer is to post a picture a day, hopefully with some comments...we'll see.
